House Oversight Committee Releases New Epstein Documents Amid Ongoing Investigation
The House Oversight Committee has unveiled a new batch of documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, intensifying the ongoing investigation into his extensive network. The latest release includes call logs, meeting schedules, and an interview transcript with former U.S. Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta, who was the top federal prosecutor in South Florida when Epstein received a controversial plea deal nearly two decades ago.
Among the redacted call logs, two undated calls from an individual listed as "Donald Trump" were identified. Epstein and President Donald Trump were once acquaintances, but Trump has stated that they ceased communication approximately 15 years ago. In response to the release, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson remarked, "It's not news that Epstein knew Donald Trump, because Donald Trump kicked Epstein out of his club for being a creep."
The documents also reveal scheduled meetings between Epstein and prominent figures in the arts, technology, and business sectors. Notable individuals include filmmaker Woody Allen, tech entrepreneur Peter Thiel, and Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn. These revelations have raised questions about the extent of Epstein's connections and the nature of his interactions with influential personalities.
Additionally, the release includes flight logs, call and text logs, and property maintenance records. The flight logs contain several references to Britain's Prince Andrew, who recently renounced his titles due to his ties to Epstein. The inclusion of these records has further fueled public interest and scrutiny regarding the associations between Epstein and high-profile individuals.
The House Oversight Committee has received a wide range of materials in response to subpoenas issued to the Epstein estate and the Justice Department. Some of these documents have been released publicly, often in redacted form, including a book created as a gift for Epstein's 50th birthday in 2003; a version of Epstein's last will and testament; and entries from Epstein's address books from January 1, 1990, through August 10, 2019.
The investigation into Epstein's activities continues to unfold, with lawmakers and the public demanding greater transparency and accountability. The release of these documents marks a significant development in understanding the full scope of Epstein's network and the individuals involved.
